What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. Establishing a positive school culture consists of setting up a behavioral management system to reflect a shared vision of common values, beliefs and expectations. Early childhood PBIS refers to PBIS within early childhood settings. In the early childhood setting, the PBIS tiered framework consists of prevention strategies, evidence based interventions for promoting social emotional and behavioral development of all young children. This model addresses the needs unique to programs serving preschoolers. The focus is to teach and reteach positive behaviors and to continually recognize what students are doing right in the school.

Social Emotional Skills
A strong component of our PBIS model is promoting the social emotional and behavioral development of all young children. Each week our students participate in lessons that help young children develop social-emotional skills needed to build a strong foundation for school success. These lessons help students recognize and manage emotions such as happiness and anger. Students engage in problem solving and learn how to be a good friend.
